Funeral services for Bartow Abernathy, 70, of Woodstock, were conducted Friday at 11 a.ma. in the New Macedonia Baptist Church. Elders Willie Howell and Earl Myers officiated.
Mr. Abernathy was a retired farmer and an elder in the Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Lee E. Deal, Mrs. John M. Bennett of Woodstock, Mrs. Mattie Huey of Acworth; one son, the Rev. Hansel Abernathy of Cartersville; five sisters, Mrs. Nancy Hite and Mrs. Bertha Osborne of Austell; Mrs. Minnie Bivins and Mrs. Nellie Summey of Cartersville; Mrs. Etta Jones of Acworth; and one brother Andrew Abernathy of Woodstock; 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
NOTES: Reuben Bartow Abernathy’s wife is Bertia Evelyn Cox.
Daughters are:
Helen Idella Abernathy (Mrs. Grady W. Abernathy)
Bonnie Abernathy (Mrs. John M. Bennett)
Mattilene Abernathy (Mrs. Huey)

Mrs. Bartow (Bertie) Abernathy, 75, of Route 3, Woodstock, died Sunday, December 31.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m., from the Macedonia primitive Baptist Church, with Elder W. D. Howell and the Rev. Lawrence Lockett officiating. Interment was in the old Macedonia Cemetery.

Survivors include their daughters, Mrs. John N. Bennett, and Mrs. Lee Deal, both of Woodstock; Mrs. Ernest Buchner, Marietta; a son, the Rev. Hansel Abernathy, Cartersville; three sisters, Mrs. Homer Lee, Cartersville; Mrs. Maggie Sumner, Jasper; Mrs. Elizabeth Young, Dalton; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Collins Funeral Home of Acworth was in charge of arrangements.
