Nancy Pauline Abernathy
NOTES: Nancy Pauline Abernathy, daughter of Reuben Bartow Abernathy and Bertia Evelyn Cox. Nancy Pauline Abernathy Bartow Tribune (Cartersville, Georgia), July 12, 1923 Nancy Pauline, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bartow
Abernathy, well-known residents of the Iron Hill district, passed
away last Friday evening at ten o’clock, after being ill only
a short time, suffering from an acute attack of stomach trouble. Bartow Tribune (Cartersville, Georgia), July 19, 1923 In Memory of Nancy Pauline Abernathy On Friday night, July 06, about 10 o'clock, as softly as falls the petals of a rose, so quietly did the spirit of the sweet little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bartow Abernathy go back to God who gave it. She was one year, seven months, and sixteen days old. She was sick only a few days, cholera infantum causing death. All that could be done was done, but all to no avail. Little Pauline was laid to rest in the Macedonia Cemetery Sunday afternoon, July 8. Words of comfort were spoken by Rev. Newberry. She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bartow Abernathy, one brother and sister and grandparents, Elder J.T. Abernathy and Rev. and Mrs. J.P. Cox, also many more relatives and friends. It seemed a fit time for her translation - the earth studded with so many flowers left no lonely grave, but instead a mass of beautiful flowers.
