Robert Akins Succumbs at Bishop Farm
Was 30 Years of Age
Odd Fellows Order Conduct the Funeral Ceremony on Sunday.

Robert Akins, a young man about 30 years of age, died on the place of Mr. James Bishop, at Kirk’s Mill, two and a half miles northeast of the city, last Saturday, of fever, with which he had suffered for about three weeks.

He is survived by his mother and two children, his wife having died a year or more ago. His children have been at the home of their grandfather, Mr. Morgan Dellinger. Akins had been employed by Mr. Bishop on his farm.

He was a member of the Odd Fellows’ order, and was buried with honors, the funeral being conducted Sunday under the direction of the Cartersville ledge.

The remains were interred at Macedonia Church.

Mrs. Lula Akins died at her home near Corbin on Tuesday evening. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Dellinger and wife of J.R. Akins, they had been married only a few years. She was quite young and leaves a husband and two children to mourn the loss of wife and mother, also parents, brothers and sisters, and a host of friends.

Her remains were laid to rest in the Macedonia Cemetery.
