Hardy Atkinson Buried Saturday at Macedonia

Hardy Atkinson, 75, prominent White farmer, died at this home Friday after a lingering illness. He was a native of Bartow County, having been born here in 1865 and was a life-long resident.
Mr. Atkinson, a man of many fine qualities, was a member of the Baptist Church. He had taken a prominent part in the development of the County and will be missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Macedonia Baptist Church. The Rev. Sandy Bennett officiated, and Owen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Mary Hulsey; two sons, Jud and Andrew Atkinson, of White, and Irwinsville; four daughters, Mrs. Beulah Mulkey, and Mrs. Trannie Hulsey, of Taylorsville; Mrs. Minnie Morris of Ambrose, and Mrs. Rinda Reeves, Aragon; two brothers Taylor and Lindsey Atkinson; two sisters, Mrs. Trannie White, Cartersville; and Mrs. Rosa McGee, Atlanta.
Burial was in the Macedonia Cemetery.
