Funeral Home Obituary

Mrs. Peggy Hill Buttram, age 63, of Pleasant Valley Road, Adairsville, passed away Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016.

She was born Aug. 21, 1953, in Cartersville, daughter of Thomas Luther Hill, Jr. and the late Rachel Abernathy Hill. Mrs. Buttram was a member of Adairsville Church of Christ and always enjoyed fellowship with her church family. She retired from the Bartow County School System. A devoted mother and grandmother, she loved spending time with her children and being active with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Wayne Buttram, of Adairsville; sons, Brett (Lacey) Buttram of Adairsville, Drew (Traci Ramey) Buttram of Clarksville, and Kenneth W. Buttram, Jr. of Adairsville; daughter, Melissa Dawn (Jim) Doles of Okla.; father, Thomas Luther Hill, Jr., of Adairsville; brothers, Michael (Lavonda) Hill of Gainesville, and Mark (Kim) Hill of Adairsville; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews

Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016 at 2 p.m. from the Adairsville Church of Christ with Minister Steve McCaslin, Minister Calvin Reneau, and Minister Rick Lawson officiating. Interment followed in Old Macedonia Cemetery located in the Stamp Creek Community. Pallbearers included Jake Hill, Cameron McConnell, Henry Stensvold, Zack Pettyjohn, Jim Doles and Eric Abernathy.

The family received friends Saturday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Barton Funeral Home.
