Jonas Dillard Scruggs, Jonas Dillard Scruggs, Sr. and Nancy Flossie Reed Scruggs, husband of Betty Scruggs Betty Ann Lee Scruggs Jennings Funeral Home obituary Betty Ann Scruggs, 71, of Cartersville died Saturday, December 5, 2009 at the Evergreen Health and Rehab Center in Rome. Born November 11, 1938 in Stockbridge, she was the daughter of the late Raleigh Elmer Lee and the late Lillian Geneva Blankenship Lee. She was also preceded in death by her son, Gene Stephens. Betty had been a homemaker for most of her life but had been employed by the Cartersville Medical Center. She enjoyed country music and karaoke with her sister. Betty also loved her family and enjoyed taking care of them. Survivors include her husband Jonas Scruggs of Cartersville; her daughter, Kimberly Scruggs and her wife, Laura Jones, of Pensacola, Florida; her son, Larry Stephens of Cartersville; her grandchildren, Tonya Jones, Melissa Jones, and Dewayne Stephens; her great-grandchildren, Gavin Coppola and Jaden Coppola; her sister, Marie Winters of Panama City, Florida; her brothers, James Herbert Lee of Ball Ground and Howard Winters of Panama City, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2009 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Burial will follow in the Old Macedonia Cemetery. Jonas Dillard Scruggs Mr. Jonas Dillard Scruggs, Jr., 73, of Cartersville, died Monday, July 23, 2012 at Kindred Hospital in Rome. Born March 24, 1939 in Spartanburg, SC, he was a son of the late Jonas Dillard Scruggs, Sr. and the late Nancy Flossie Reed Scruggs. Mr. Scruggs served our Country as a member of the United States Air Force and was a self-employed brick mason. He was a devoted husband and father and loved to fish. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Scruggs; and son, Franklin Eugene Stephens. Survivors include his daughter, Kimberly A. Scruggs of Cartersville; son, Larry Otis Scruggs, also of Cartersville; daughter-in-law, Tina M. Scruggs of Cartersville; and a grandson, Dwayne Stephens.
