"My hometown..."
Main Street in Freehold |
|||
Bruce Springsteen was born in Freehold, New Jersey, on September 23, 1949. His first home was on Randolph Street next to the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. They soon moved to 39-1/2 Institute Street, where they lived before moving to their home on South Street. The South Street home was where Bruce lived as a teenager, and his last home in Freehold. Although described bleakly in "My Hometown," Freehold, the county seat of Monmouth, is now a thriving town. In the mid-90s, Bruce donated a firetruck to the local fire department. (The truck sports the phrase "Born to Run" on its side.) Bruce and his family are often seen around town. |
